![]() ![]() Unlike Jeremy and Enzo, Kai only had eyes for Bonnie. We never got a proper witch arc in the show unlike werewolves, hybrids and even heretics and this was the opportunity to do so. Instead of Renesmee part 2 and Enzo's boring storyline with the Armory, we could have explored the Gemini Coven and their connection with the Bennett family which was hinted but never delved into. Rather than the Red Wedding which was a last minute change to "send off" Nina, we could have had Kai earning his redemption by fighting against the heretics who had tortured him instead of inexplicably helping them. I wish someone had been there to talk sense to her about Kai. Klaus was popular and his story was just starting. Just like Bonkai! Luckily for Klaus and Julie's career, Kevin told her this was crazy. She also disliked how popular Klaroline was. Just like Kai, Klaus had got too popular and just like season 6, Julie said she needed Damon to "win". Unlike the last time Julie tried to do this to a popular character she disliked, there was no Kevin Williamson to make her see sense. Julie claimed she had to write out Kai because he was the lead in a new show (the short-lived Containment) but the truth is that he had got too popular, she didn't like Bonkai and she wanted Damon to "win". They had all hurt people in ways they could never make up for. There's no reason why these men got second chance upon second chance to redeem themselves over and over again. There's no reason why any of these men were better than Kai or deserved to fall in love with women they didn't deserve and have them love them back - Elena, Caroline, Cami, Davina, Hayley. Elijah gave the veneer of nobility and restraint but we saw in TO that underneath that, he was just as monstrous as his brothers. Kol was such a psychopathic killer that even Klaus - Klaus! - had to dagger him just to slow him down. Klaus killed people in sadistic ways when he was in a mood. Damon murdered pregnant women to spite his brother. Stefan was a serial killer and his first victim was his father. You can apply that story to Stefan and Damon, Klaus, Kol and even Elijah.
